Have you noticed that those two always appear together in Scripture? They are sisters, not opposites, and walk hand in hand. Applying the same concept to our childrens’ education, we teach our children truth: Bible, and history, and grammar, and math. But let’s not neglect mercy.
Compassionate service as a family is just as an important part our homeschooling as knowledge of subjects.
Teaching Secondary History with The Story of the Ancient World
Christine has posted Secondary History with The Story of the Ancient World over at Biblical Homeschooling, our sister site. While we recommend the Guerber History series as a child’s first introduction to history in the elementary grades, we do get questions from parents who want to use this series with their teens. More is planned. Go check it out!
Guerber’s Histories Teaching Helps
New in 2016: A growing collection of tried and tested teaching helps for each of the Guerber’s histories. Currently Ancient World, Greeks, Romans, and Middle Ages is up, with the remainder in progress, coming soon. Each teaching helps page is linked from its individual book page, or they are also all archived here for easy access.
Using the Bible to Teach History

Thank you for having me, Homeschooling Torah! Homeschooling Torah uses all Nothing New Press histories as spines for their history curriculum. Look into them if you are looking for a wonderful Biblically-based, tried and tested curriculum for your homeschool, where the lesson planning is done for you, and you can easily teach one child or many children of different ages together.
